Life coaching is a means to “jump starting” your life, to getting un-stuck, to bringing about your dreams, and to healing whatever needs to be healed, so that you can live your very best life.
Every coach brings their unique style to a coaching session, which is why I offer you a brief bio of myself in About Liz, and it is also why I offer a free 30 minute consult—it is only fair to offer you the chance to evaluate me and the service I offer, free of charge. Additionally, my advice column, Questions My Students Ask Me, will give you an idea of some of the issues I may be able to help you with, and the sort of insight I can offer.
If you wish make an appointment, my contact information is available following the Frequently Asked Questions section.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is life coaching?
Life coaching is a one-on-one relationship between coach and client, and is about empowering the client who, for whatever reason, has lost the ability to create the life s/he wishes to live. It is a dynamic and mutual exchange that seeks to restore you, the client, to the clear, competent, and creative person you already are, so you can name your goal and attain it. Life coaching will help you to trust in your hopes and dreams, to problem solve, to identify what has you stuck, and take the steps to get un-stuck. It is a means to healing your life.
How is life coaching different from therapy?
Life coaching is not therapy. Therapy is a narrower field of treatment, in that therapists are trained to treat psychological challenges that interrupt one’s life. And while a life coach may suggest therapy as one of many steps to take in order to create a happy life, a life coach doesn’t so much treat as she will guide. Guide you where, you might ask? Straight into the inherent vision and strength you were born with—it is that inherent wisdom and intuition that will help you to restore your life.
What issues can a life coach help me with?
- Your desire to lead a healthy life
- Your desire to be in a happy, healthy, intimate relationship
- Family dynamics/challenges that are unhealthy and burdensome
- Healing after divorce
- Child custody issues and co-parenting dynamics
- Infertility/Adoption
- Healing after an abusive relationship
- Making decisions
What you can expect from a life coaching session with me:
- Compassion
- Honesty
- Insight and Guidance
- Confidentiality
Additionally, I personally believe that life coaching is a tool, one we access for a brief time in order to “jump start” our life. The number of sessions are likely to be between 3 and 5, so life coaching can fit into your busy life with more ease, and will be far more affordable than traditional therapeutic care.
What qualifies me to coach you?
Having transformed my own life will certainly enable me to compassionately and intuitively sense how to guide you. Additionally, I have a diverse and extensive educational and experiential background that allows me to engage effectively with an array of issues you might bring to me.
Please see About Liz for more biographical details.
What happens at the free consultation?
The initial consultation will last 30 minutes and is free of charge. This provides you with a chance to see if you feel comfortable with me, my style, and my abilities. It also gives me the chance to hear your issue and to assess whether my life coaching skills will benefit you. If we agree that we’re a good match, we would schedule an appointment to meet, and I would likely send you off with a task to get the ball rolling.
How much does a life coaching session cost?
60 minute session/1 hour: $90.00
75 minute session/1 hour 15 minutes: $100.00
